ITM
Istanbul Time Machine is an academic digital heritage project developed at the Institute of Population and Social Research, Marmara University. It aims to reconstruct late Ottoman Istanbul through historical maps, archival sources, spatial analysis, and historically grounded three-dimensional representations. The platform provides an open-access environment for exploring the city’s urban fabric, everyday life, and transformations across time. As an affiliated project of the Time Machine Organisation (TMO), it contributes to an international network dedicated to advancing digital technologies for cultural heritage and historical research.
